inspired.

Today was beautiful. We had an early start spent on the beach with friends. Mostly, the girls talked about stomach fat loss tips. Obviously, this was inspired by the sexy gals we saw at the beach :P. We went home early, just in time before the beach started to pack with people and the weather reach high 90s. My boys were starving even after our quick Ben&Jerry's snacks. I was pretty happy and inspired and cooked this: BEEF SUKIYAKI! Happy weekend everyone!

When in D.C.

I used to love Chinese Buffet and Restaurants but after almost every weekend of frequenting them, I have outgrown my love for Chinese take-outs, buffet and yes, generally, Chinese Cuisine. However, when we were in D.C. on the 4th of July, my friend brought us to this Chinese Restaurant in the Chinatown. I swear, everytime we go to D.C., we drop by that resto. The staff already know us and more than their good food, these staff were the best! My bad I forgot the name, well, it sounds like CHINESE NEW GARDEN resto or something. I promise to post the restaurant's name and address when we go back, well, maybe next week haha!

These 2 are my personal faves from them. Pork with Beancurd.

and this Szechuan Beef soup which I am pretty sure they used at least 1 beef bullion cube to make it tasty. YUM!

howdy.

We have a packed weekend, in fact DH has already taken tomorrow and Friday as his off days. We are going out on another long driving spree and yes, taking advantage of the warmer weather. We are not leaving until Friday because tomorrow, DH wanted to find a replacement for his Uncle's truck grilles and makes sure that the car is tuned up. He will check some of the car accessories at CARID.com and see if we can make a fast order. I swear to pack lightly this time and by that I am glad to be packing lighter clothes, dresses and shorts for me yahoo! I can't wait for weekend to arrive. But before leaving, I need to finish my deadlines argh!

6.

Yes, I may have gained over 6 lbs from all the weekend vacays that we have been doing since May. I would want to instantly jump and take fast weight loss pills but I believe that if I do that, the rebound would be huge. I mean, if I stop taking these diet pills, my weight gain would be doubled so I would rather skip it.

You cannot blame me if I indulged myself with food because the cities we visited require us to walk, walk, and walk. Hence, I need more energy which is food. Oh excuses, excuses, I guess I need to push myself and hit the treadmill asap!

Food for Thought is Back!

So happy that Food For Thought Friday is Back, more than running out food memes to write here, I love the questions that Jodi posts on her blog. Anyway, here is the FFTF meme last Memorial weekend. Too excited to answer it before checking out prenatal vitamins for a friend.

Breakfast
Who will you be thinking mostly about this Memorial Day?
>>>None really. We were just recuperating from our weekly travel.

Lunch
What are your Memorial Day traditions?
>>>Again, none.

Dinner
How many graves do you usually visit on Memorial Day?
>>>Yikes. None. But I do remember my very first Memorial Day here, I was in Santa Monica beach in LA and there was a mini-yard filled with graves to commemorate the passing of soldiers.

Midnight Snack
What is one thing you hope to remembered for?
>>>That I have a ready smile for anyone and everyone.

Recipe of the Week
(instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for this week?)
“We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.”

an easy cheese cupcake/cheesecake loaf recipe.

This is a simple recipe that even those who dislike baking will find this cheesecake an easy whip and you'd like to bake more and more! However, it is calorie-packed pastry, you might check curvatrim review after indulging in this hee hee.

When I blogged this before, I received a lot of comments asking for the recipe and also private emails, I failed to reply to most of them, my bad (hope you are still following this blog). A friend baked these goodies for her officemates last Christmas but she made them into loaves, which is also a good suggestion. After asking my mom if I could post her original recipe here, she had no hesitations so here it is:

CHEESE CUPCAKES:
1 butter
1/3 cup sugar
3 medium eggs
1 can condensed milk
1/2 tbsps baking powder
3 cups cake flour or all purpose flour
grated cheese
PROCEDURE: Cream butter, add sugar, 3 eggs (one at a time) and condensed milk. Then add the flour with the baking powder. Mix grated cheese. Then pour the bater in a baking cups or loaves, place grated cheese on top. Bake at 15-20 minutes at regular heat.

cravings

Last Saturday, hubby and I were craving for champorado (chocolate rice porridge). My cravings blame it to my hormones, it's that time of the month again and I better prepare those acne cream.

We do not have any sticky rice and we do not want to wait any longer. So we ran into the nearest Asian store and grab the White King instant champorado mix! Here it is. It was not really that good as it tasted a little odd, I don't know if we got an old stock but it tasted like the carton box lol! But enough to satisfy our cravings :). You asked if we had 'daing' (dried fish) to match with it? Nope, but we had a very salty chips to match our instant champorado!

all about LASAGNA

This is something I found from Fun, Crafts and Recipes, one of my favorite foodie blogs. You see, our pantry is always filled with pasta, spahetti, angel hair, zitti, macaroni, twirls etc...as hubby and I and even the little boy are pasta lovers. My son has not been eating rice for several days now but boy oh boy you must see how much multigrain pasta he can finish. He alternates the fettucine and chicken macaroni soup leftovers I made for straight 5 days :). Anyhow, here's the repost before I check this irvingia, hope you all learn a thing or two. On her Lasagna, she fry the meat and bake the whole dish:

Preheat oven according to package.Cook your ground beef and sausage, making
sure the final product is crumbled into small chunks.Mix the ground beef and
sausage together and stir in some ricotta to hold it together.Season to
taste.Spread a little sauce in the bottom of your pans.Place a layer of noodles
in your pan.Spread a little sauce.Spread a layer of the meat and cheese
mixture.Add a second layer of noodles.Spread a little sauce.Add the remainder of
the meat mixture and some mozzarella.Add a third layer of noodles.Add a layer of
mozzarella and ricotta.Add final layer of noodles.Bake under foil according to
the package.Serve with garlic bread.

what I should be doing.

My sister-in-law, A and I were having our usual anything-under-the-sun chat the other day via Magic Jack talking about random things from Gulf Coast Jones Act down to shopping loots and she was right when she said that it's hard to lose weight when you're in your 30s. I lost about 5 lbs for the past 5 months, but the post pregnancy tummy flabs are still intact! =( I try to do 200 crunches every single day but they're still there, sticking with me forever. hay.

Michael Phelps, what does he eat?

With all the hype on this man's admirable winnings in the past Olympics, I was too happy when I saw his diet plan as blogged by Jessica Zafra.

With all those abs and toned muscle (not so buffed not so soft, just fine lean body), who wouldn't wanna know what this man eats or maybe he also takes best weight loss supplement.

Look at his meals below and just a little trivia: I read that the 1st food he ate after the competition was completed was CHIPS!!! Yay for chips addicts like me hee. I guess for moms who are dreaming of their kids to be an athlete, let this be your guide, joke!
