I have experienced how it is to lose weight drastically when I did my spiritual fasting. While this is not advisable by Doctors, some celebrities would do whatever they could to fit into a role given to them, losing or even gaining weight. Some would work out, starve themselves and take the best supplements for weight loss, while others would binge, binge and binge just to be big enough for the role. Stars That Gained Weight
Renee Zellweger: She gained 30 pounds in 2001 to play the part of Bridget Jones in both Bridget Jones’s Diary and again for the 2004 sequel, yet somehow she was able to take it all back off after filming–twice.
Christian Bale: He lost a stunning 63 pounds in order to gain the lead role in The Machinist.
Charlize Theron: She gained 30 pounds for the role of a serial killer for the movie Monster and even won an Academy Award for the role.
Robert De Niro: He played boxer Jake La Motta in the 1980 Raging Bull and gained a staggering 60 pounds for the part.
George Clooney: Although, it is unclear exactly how much weight he gained, he gained quite a bit to play the role of a terrorist in the 2005 Syriana.

Matt Damon: He was said to have lost 40 pounds to get the role of a Gulf War vetern in Courage Under Fire. Incidentally, he’s also gained weight for a 2009 movie role in The Informant.
Tom Hanks: He had to lose weight for his role as the lead character in the 2000 film Castaway. Stranded far from society, his character’s phisique obviously changed throughout his ordeal.
